
Cinematographer
Fachmi Jusuf Saad is an Indonesian cinematographer (Director of Photography) who is widely known for his work in feature films, television series, music videos, and commercials. He studied at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ), Faculty of Film and Television, focusing on cinematography.
Since the beginning of his career, Fachmi has been involved in dozens of film productions of various genres, working with many renowned Indonesian directors. His dedication and consistency in creating powerful cinematic visuals have earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.
Achievements & Awards
He has been nominated and won awards at various prestigious film festivals. He was a nominee for Best Cinematographer at the 2012 Bandung Film Festival for the film Tim Bui, as well as a nominee for Best Cinematography at the 2013 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) for the film Madre. His international work, My Journey: Finding Waterspring, earned him the Best Cinematographer award at the Hollywood International Moving Film Festival (2016) and Best Cinematography at the Chandler International Film Festival (2016).
In 2018, the film Cakra Buana earned him the Best Cinematography in a Feature Film award at the South Film and Arts Academy Festival and a nomination at the Milan IFF. Back home, he received further recognition with a nomination at the 2022 Bandung Film Festival for Perjalanan Pertama and the Best Cinematographer award at the 2023 Indonesian Journalists Film Festival for Star Syn.
