MAHFUD IKHWAN is a novelist. His first novel, Ulid, was published in 2009. His second novel, Kambing dan Hujan (Goats and Rain, 2015), won the 2014 Jakarta Arts Council Novel Competition and received an award from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture’s Language Agency for the best novel of 2016. His next novel, Dawuk: Kisah Kelabu dari Rumbuk Randu (2017), won the 2017 Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa Award. Dawuk has also been translated into Arabic and English.
