Born in Yogyakarta in 1984. Spent his childhood full of adventures in a simple cultural city. His cinematic experience began when he was involved in the making of a short film, Djejak Darah (2002), which won the Citra Award for best short film. He then decided to delve deeper into the world of audio-visuals at the Indonesian Communication Academy
and chose to become a professional cinematographer. Another Trip to the Moon (2015, Ismail Basbeth) was his first feature film, followed by Talak 3 (2015, Ismail Basbeth), and Mobil Bekas dan Kisah- Stories in Circles (2017, Ismail Basbeth), which earned him the Special Achievement Award from Red Digital Camera. Currently, in addition to continuing his work as a cinematographer for films and series, Satria Kurnianto also focuses on educational practice and the development of cinematography for the general public
and film communities.
