Sesarini (She/They), usually called Upi, she graduated from Indonesia Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta majoring in Film and Television. She likes telling stories through various media, such as writing, zines, collages, and films. She also explored herself in the field of art with a friend, named Solace Things (an artist duo). In 2022, Solace Things made a film entitled “The Unusual Event; Voices”, screened in several regions in Indonesia as part of the Film Musik Makan event and became the official selection at Minikino Film Week 8. Then their collage work entitled ” What Planted and Exploded ” was exhibited in Bangkok and Jakarta at the Yuwana Exhibition (Asean Youth Forum).

She was involved in the production of a feature-length film titled SARA directed by ismailBASBETH, as an assistant producer. In 2023, with her short film project entitled “Another Day of Something Unusual”, she was selected to join the LOCK x Full Circle Lab Story Development Workshop mentored by Wim Vanacker (part of the Cannes Film Festival Official Short Film Competition Selection Committee) and the Indonesian Filmmakers Special Intake Program at mylab+ @Jogja. She has also attended Fantastic Film School 2024, a training
program for fantastic film professionals at NAFF (Network of Asia Fantastic Film) at BIFAN. Her short film project participated in the pitching lab at Drama International Short Film Festival 2024. She is also a selected participant of the Platform BUSAN 2024. She is currently working as a creative manager at Ruang Basbeth Bercerita and is developing her first feature film, “The Light of Fire” and the project was selected to be marketed at JAFF Future Project 2024.
