SYNOPSIS

Banda has a long history. European ships once visited this region to obtain spices, the most famous treasure of that era. In the Banda Islands, there is Run Island, a region that was handed over by the British to the Dutch in exchange for Manhattan in the Americas.

The spices produced by the Banda Islands made foreign nations want to control them, turning them into a battleground. From its long history, does the Banda Islands still have its charm today?

Ismail Basbeth, the director of this video, tries to capture the memories of the Banda people. Do the Banda people know that their land was once fought over by foreign nations?

The story of Banda today is presented to us in a portrait of a journey. Bung Hatta was also exiled to Banda by the Dutch colonial government. This exploration is not only about the history of the past, but also captures the spirit of the future from the Banda Sea. The return of past glory may be difficult to achieve, but with abundant natural resources, the welfare of the Banda people must be realized.
